Kirsty is from the Gold Coast, Australia and moved to Hobart in 2018 to study Marine Biology at IMAS. She completed her degree in Marine and Antarctic science (BA, 2020), and is currently undertaking an Honours research year. This focuses on modelling coral reefs to understand the nutrient potential for fisheries. She has also been working as a research assistant for the lab group.
